Profile
Ph.D. in Biophysics
I am a graduate student working towards a PhD in biophysics. My scientific aspirations began during my time in community college and developed as I completed my undergraduate degree at UC Riverside. Over this time I became enamored with the delicate balance of the cell and the biological processes which maintain it, bringing me to the field of biophysics. Throughout my research career I have been fortunate enough to be recognized and supported by institutions like the National Institutes of Health and the National Science Foundation as well as by more directed organizations like the California Alliance for Minority Participation. I intend to utilize my graduate training in order to develop and improve treatments for neurodegenerative disorders. Additionally, I hope to serve as a mentor for first-generation college students like myself in order to provide encouragement and direction to students who otherwise might have none. I am beyond grateful for support from ARCS in helping me and like-minded others to achieve our goals to impact the world for the better.
