Wilfredo Gonzalez Rivera
Wilfredo Gabriel Gonzalez Rivera (He/Him/El) is a first year Ph.D. student in the department of Biomedical Informatics at the University of California, San Diego. He completed two B.S in Computer Science with emphasis in Engineering and Industrial Biotechnology from the University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez. Wilfredo also worked around two years at the pharmaceutical companies Eli Lilly & Bristol Myers Squibb before transitioning back into academics. His academic focus involves advancing precision medicine with research interest in identifying and characterizing genetic variants associated with a trait/disease that can be utilized to predict resistance or susceptibility on admixture populations.
