Andrew Hua

Interim Assistant Dean, Graduate Student Affairs

  • Serving as Interim Assistant Dean of Graduate Student Affairs as of 8/13/24. If you need assistance with a student of concern, please submit a Triton Concern Form as the first step and also review resources provided by Student Affairs Case Management Services.
Before starting at UC San Diego, Andrew has served as a Higher Education professional at the University of California, Berkeley and Washington State University. He received his Master of Arts in Student Affairs Administration degree from Michigan State University (Go Green! Go Spartans!) and he received my Bachelor of Arts in Sociology degree from the University of California, Riverside (Go Highlanders!). Currently, Andrew is also in the process of acquiring his doctorate degree in Educational Leadership from the UC San Diego and California State University, San Marcos. Personally, he’d like to share that he is a huge Disney fanatic and love photography. So you could say that his hobbies are going to Disneyland and taking pictures. However, he has other hobbies as well. He enjoys playing volleyball, board/video games, going on foodie adventures, and hiking. Andrew’s various experiences in Crisis Management, Behavioral Threat Assessment, Non-Clinical Case Management, Residential Life, Greek Life, Student Conduct, Conference Services, and Student Government, along with his desire to learn and passion for developing students, holistically, as leaders, citizens, and scholars in a safe and welcoming community is the foundation of his student affairs experience.
