I am a Ph.D student in the Bioinformatics and Systems Biology program. I was born in Miami to Cuban immigrants and was raised in New Orleans. From an early age I knew I wanted to be a scientist and during my undergrad at Vassar College I got my first taste of research. Because of my Computer Science classes and my Bioinformatics research at various summer research programs I decided to pursue graduate school. Here at UCSD I hope to continue to leverage my computational background to solve biological problems.
