Jonathan Gunn
Jonathan Gunn is an aspiring physician-scientist in the M.D./Ph.D. program at UCSD. As an undergraduate, he coauthored four publications, including a co-first author paper in Nature Biomedical Engineering. He is also an inventor on the patent for Molecular Indexing of Proteins by Self-Assembly (MIPSA) technology. Now in his second year of graduate training in Bioengineering, Jonathan is conducting research under the mentorship of Drs. Dan Kaufman and Ester Kwon, focusing on using lipid nanoparticles to deliver Chimeric Antigen Receptor (CAR) therapies in vivo. During his medical school years, he was active in UCSD’s Free Clinic, providing care to the uninsured, and contributed to Doc-4-A-Day, inspiring high school students to pursue STEM careers. Recently, he was awarded the ARCS scholarship.
