1) Am I required to attend New Graduate Student Orientation activities?

You are not required to participate in The Graduate Division's new online orientation activities, but it is highly recommended. Please follow up directly with the Graduate Coordinator in your department or program to find out about items required for your specific degree.

2) Where will orientation activities take place?

For 2020, all orientation activities organized by The Graduate Division will take place virtually. First, be sure to access the online modules available in the Online New Graduate Student Orientation. Later this summer, The Graduate Division will organize a series of webinars highlighting various resources and opportunities available to you on campus. Whenever possible, we will aim to make this information available online after the webinar has taken place.

3) Should I attend online orientation activities if I also attended UCSD as an undergraduate?

Although you may be familiar with many resources and spaces on campus, we recommend viewing online orientation contect from The Graduate Division to learn about what resources are specifically available to you as a graduate student.

4) Will orientation tell me how to register for classes?

No, please work with your department/program’s Graduate Coordinator to discuss course registration. Registration for classes typically takes place on TritonLink.
