1) Am I required to attend New Graduate Student Orientation activities?

You are not required to participate in the Graduate Division's orientation activities, but it is highly recommended. Please follow up directly with the Graduate Coordinator in your department or program to find out about items required for your specific degree program.

2) Where will orientation activities take place?

Fall 2021 orientation activities organized by the Graduate Division will take place both virtually and in-person. Be sure to access the online modules available this summer through the Online New Graduate Student Orientation. Additional events will take place in September, and more details will be posted as they are finalized.

3) Should I attend the orientation activities if I also attended UCSD as an undergraduate?

Although you may be familiar with many resources and spaces on campus, we recommend participating in all orientation activities from the Graduate Division to learn about resources specifically tailored to the graduate student population.

4) Will orientation tell me how to register for classes?

No, please work with your department/program’s Graduate Coordinator to discuss course registration. Registration for classes typically takes place on TritonLink.
