Erik Brockbank

Psychology

Erik Brockbank is currently pursuing a PhD in Psychology at the UCSD Computational Cognition Lab. His research explores the computational processes that allow people to find abstract structure in the world around them, focusing on a range of topics from number estimation to rock, paper, scissors. Prior to his graduate studies, Erik received his undergraduate and master's degrees at Stanford and worked for several years as a software engineer. After earning his PhD, Erik hopes to continue research in order to help us one day understand how machines can better work with, and think like, humans.
