Profile
Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering
I received my bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering at UCSD in 2015 and am currently pursuing a Ph.D, specializing in the field of fluid mechanics. Although I enjoy tinkering with aerospace applications such as aircraft design in my spare time, my academic interests lie with theoretical investigations of fundamental fluid-structure phenomena through the lens of mathematical physics. In my time at UCSD, I hope to apply and sharpen my skills with respect to creative formulation and solution of analytical problems that represent significant aspects of engineering applications such as soft-robot operations and anatomical modeling. Such formulations generally substantially accelerate computational times required for large-scale simulations, and in the latter application, may thus provide timely diagnoses for patients displaying symptoms of vascular diseases. Following my higher education, I am committed to pursuing a career that involves teaching engineering sciences. I believe that doing so is the right way for me to pay forward the wonderful opportunities supported by this fellowship. I am greatly honored to call myself a member of the ARCS community, and to learn from its scholars who hail from such a diverse range of academic backgrounds.
