GEM Triton Fellows
UC San Diego is a university member of The National GEM Consortium.
The GEM fellowship program invests in a competitive American workforce by supporting high-caliber students looking to pursue Master’s and Doctoral degrees in applied science and engineering, and matches their specific skills to the technical needs of GEM employer members. Through the fellowship, students receive full financial support and a paid internship. The program has received a Presidential Award for its impact in STEM and has produced over 5000 leaders in STEM. UC San Diego partners with GEM in:
1- welcoming any GEM Fellows considering graduate school in one our STEM master's or doctoral programs.
2- promoting the GEM Fellowship with UC San Diego undergraduates interested in pursuing graduate school in STEM.
Throughout the years UC San Diego has been the home of more than 50 GEM fellows that have successfully graduated from Master's and Doctoral programs. UC San Diego does not have oversight of the application and selection process for GEM Fellows, the National GEM Consortium has information on their website about the application process. Any GEM Fellow that matriculates into a UCSD PhD program is invited and sponsored to participate in a summer bridge program, specifically designed to help in the student's transition and acclimation to the UC San Diego campus.
For questions about the GEM fellowship go to their website or contact info@gemfellowship.org.
