Yuan Gu, a first-year PhD student at UC San Diego's Anthropology Department, is dedicated to prison studies. They specialize in the comparative effectiveness of rehabilitation programs within Chinese and U.S. prison systems, as well as the experiences of gender non-conforming individuals behind bars. Yuan's innovative research assesses and compares various rehabilitation approaches, while also exploring the unique challenges faced by queer populations in correctional facilities.
