My research interests are both historical and contemporary. On the historical side, I am interested in the history of philosophy in Latin America (especially 20th century Mexico) as well as in German Idealism (especially Schelling and Hegel). On the contemporary side, I am interested in aesthetics and social philosophy. Right now, I am thinking about evaluative standards in art, social and non-social hierarchies, as well as philosophical accounts of racial mixture in early 20th century Mexico. Prior to coming to UCSD, I completed my B.A. at Yale, where I held a Mellon-Mays Undergraduate Fellowship.
