New Employee Orientation for Academic Student Employees (ASEs) and Graduate Student Researchers (GSRs)

The orientation will be offered IN PERSON.  Multiple sessions have been scheduled to accommodate schedules (see schedule below).  Employees who have not previously attended the GSR orientations in the spring or are new GSRS must attend. 

The In Person ASE/GSR Orientation arrangements will be as follows: 

1. The University and the UAW has identified times on 4 days for offering UAW ASE/GSR Orientations IN PERSON.
2. The Orientation details are provided below for your reference.  Please forward this information to your ASEs and GSRs.
3. Questions from ASEs/GSRs regarding the UAW ASE/GSR Orientation, should be directed to the UAW: sandiego@uaw2865.org. 
4. ASEs and GSRs should complete the  RSVP form for the orientations HERE and choose the Orientation that matches their department or job title. If an ASE or GSR has already been to an Orientation, they are to also mark that on the same RSVP form.
5. If an ASE or GSR is not able to attend the Orientation that pertains to them (i.e. Biology, Tutors/Readers, etc.) they may attend a different session.

FALL 2023 UAW ASE/GSR Orientation Schedule – ALL SESSIONS WILL BE IN THE PRICE CENTER

WINTER 2024 UAW ASE/GSR Orientation Schedule - ALL SESSION WILL BE IN THE PRICE CENTER

1. The University and the UAW has identified times on 3 days for offering UAW ASE/GSR Orientations.
2. The Orientation details are provided below for your reference.  Please forward this information to your ASEs and GSRs. If you put the information in a department newsletter, please make sure to include the RSVP link (see #4).
3. If an ASE or GSR asks you about the UAW ASE/GSR Orientation, provide them the schedule listed below or refer them to the UAW directly: sandiego@uaw2865.org. 
4. ASEs and GSRs should complete the following RSVP form HERE for the orientations and choose the Orientation that matches their job title. If an ASE or GSR has already been to an Orientation, they are to also mark that on the same RSVP form.
5. An ASE or GSR should only attend the session that corresponds to their job title (ie. Tutors/Readers or TAs/GSRs).
