Carolina Ramirez Moreno

Carolina Ramirez Moreno is a Ph.D. student in the department of Literature with an emphasis in Spanish at UC San Diego. She completed her B.A. in Spanish, Portuguese, and Chicana/o Studies from UC Santa Barbara. Her academic interests focus on popular culture, representation of Latine/x communities in US media and the representation of historical contexts through art and performance.

Considering Carolina’s current geographical proximity to the US/Mexico border, her research also includes methods and theory in border studies. Carolina is part of the Latine/x Graduate Student Association, an emerging (2023) graduate student group that fosters community and academic excellence among Latina/o/e/x graduate students at UC San Diego.
