STARS Grad Prep Program Schedule

Program Dates: June 21, 2026 - August 14, 2026

Please note that STARS 2026 will be an in-person summer program.

The schedule below does not include research schedule with faculty and discipline specific activities.

The STARS program is an intensive 8-week academy modeled on graduate school life. It includes 6-8 hours of faculty-led research per day, graduate school application preparation activities, networking, and community building activities.

In addition to a faculty mentor, each participant will be partnered with a graduate student advocate/mentor. To complete the program, participants must participate in meetings, and activities and make a 15-minute oral presentation of their research findings at the UC San Diego Summer Research Conference. Research hours and meetings with faculty are not included in the schedule below. Those activities will be coordinated directly with students' research sites.
