Student FICA (DCP/Medicare): 

Summer 2018 Payday Summary

A student employee who is a U.S. citizen, permanent resident or resident alien must be employed less than 80 percent time for the month and meet the following minimum unit requirements to remain exempt from Student FICA (DCP/Medicare deductions):

Graduate Student: 6 units (September through June
3 units (5-week Summer Session; July and August)
6 units (10-week summer session; July - August)
Undergraduate Student: 6 units (September through August)
