Professional Leadership & Integrity Certificate

Program Description

Open to graduate students and postdoctoral scholars, this new certificate program fosters a critical understanding of professional integrity and leadership in participants. It also aims to develop empathy and awareness to help break down barriers of communication among diverse disciplines and global communities.

Program Overview

The certificate program will launch in Winter 2021 as a pilot initiative with a cohort of 20 participants, and will meet one evening per week over 10 weeks. This is a non-credit program; however, we hope it will soon be approved for listing on the official Co-Curricular Record transcript.

Prospective participants must attest to their faculty advisors' or PI's support of their participation, so please discuss this opportunity with your advisor/PI before applying.

By completing this program, participants will acquire the skills and knowledge to:

  • Seek out and communicate with diverse voices among academic peers, professionals from multiple disciplinary backgrounds, and lay audiences
  • Make evidence-based decisions in the contexts of research and leadership in both academia and industry
  • Empower other professional and lay people from traditionally underrepresented groups
