STARS Graduate School Preparation Schedule

Program Dates: June 23, 2024 - August 17, 2024

Please note that STARS 2024 will be an in-person summer program. 

The schedule below does not include research schedule with faculty and discipline specific activities.

The schedule below is tentative.

The STARS program is an intensive 8-week academy modeled on graduate school life. It includes 6-8 hours of faculty-led research per day, student development workshops, a GRE (Graduate Records Exam) course, and social activities.

In addition to a faculty mentor and a lab supervisor, each participant will be partnered with a graduate student advocate/mentor. To complete the program, participants must participate in all courses, meetings, and activities and make a 15-minute oral presentation of their research findings at the UC San Diego Summer Research Conference. Research hours and meetings with faculty are not included in the schedule below. Those activities will be coordinated directly with students' research sites.
