Stephen Reynders is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Sociology and Science Studies Program at UC San Diego. He attended UC San Diego as an undergraduate, earning a BA in Sociology, Philosophy, and History. His current research examines diversity and inclusion practices in STEM organizations. In particular, he is interested in how these practices are shaped by scientists’ and engineers’ identities and professional communities. In addition to his research and teaching, Stephen serves as a Board Member of the African and African American Studies Research Center at UC San Diego.
Upon entering graduate school, Stephen pursued a research project studying ritual practices. He has participated in a variety of religious services at places of worship across San Diego, including Catholic, Greek Orthodox, and Episcopal churches.
