Graduate Housing Town Hall / Open Forum
Tuesday, January 13th at 6:00-7:30 pm
Forum (4th Floor of PC East)
How can graduate housing improve the experience of graduate students? What is happening with the new graduate housing complex planned in Mesa? These questions are part of important developments which are happening in graduate housing at UCSD. We invite you to join us for food, beer, and non-alcoholic drinks while we discuss these topics.
The Strategic Residence Living and Learning Work group (SRLLW) was tasked to develop a plan to improve residential life and wants to find out what residential issues are important to all graduate students, so that their input can be incorporated into the campus wide plan.
Additionally, a building team and design was recently selected to build the new graduate housing complex that will be built in North Mesa. There are now designs to show (see image), timelines to release, and developments to discuss. Kim Barrett (Dean of the Graduate Division), Mark Cunningham (Asst. Vice Chancellor of HDH), and the Graduate Student Association wanted to make this open forum to have a casual dialogue with all graduate students about your housing.
Come check out the models for the new complex. Tell us your thoughts! Ask us questions! Question our answers! Food is being provided by HDH, beer by the GSA, and raffle prizes by the Graduate Division (an iPad mini3, a $100 triton card, and a 10–day parking permit).
If you have any questions about the new housing project or about this open forum please contact email@example.com. The GSA is also developing a webpage gsa.ucsd.edu/grad-housing to detail the advances during the course of the project.
